"Anthem" is a mixed media piece that features a variety of parts from the piano action. I sunk wooden flanges (these have a specific name in the piano-world vernacular: "butt flanges") into the groove cut between the piece's surface and its frame to create a flush border that complements the center design. Most piano actions have more than 4,000 components to them, so I have plenty from which to choose.
